Beer in Mexico?

When addressing the media after practice, Rajon Rondo was asked how he spent his two-game suspension. In typical Rondo fashion, he responded, "I went to Mexico." The reporter, the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn, laughed and asked, "How was Mexico?" Sporting his usual poker-face, Rondo simply quipped, "It was cool." He was obviously kidding, or so we think.

Rondo feels that the rest he got will benefit him in the long run. "Yeah, days off, allowed my body to get a chance to rest," he said. "I wanted to be out there with my teammates, but obviously, two-game suspension, and, like I said, I was glued in front of the TV."

Whether he went to Mexico or not, the most important thing is that Rondo was back at practice today, along with the 35 and older club, aka Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry.

After allowing assistant coach Armond Hill run practice with seven players on Monday, the whole gang was back today led by head coach Doc Rivers.

Rivers said today that he is pleased with the team's progress, especially over the past two games. "Overall, the last two games, I like where we're at," said Rivers. "But we've got to continue to do it. We've yet to be consistent, in my opinion. You can be consistent and lose a game, and I think Milwaukee was an example of that. I thought we played with the right spirit, but we just have to have that consistent effort."

Some other practice notes...

* For the second straight day, Leandro Barbosa missed practice due to an illness. He is questionable for tomorrow night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. When asked about his status, Rivers responded, "I don't know, really. I have no idea."

* When asked if he learned a lesson from his suspension, Rajon Rondo gave a short response. Anyone want to give a wild guess as to what it was? Well, he simply said, "No."
