Final: Lakers 101, Celtics 92

Back and forth they went, but once again the Celtics (19-37) fell short. They lost their third straight game tonight, falling to the Lakers (19-36), 101-92.

The C's outscored L.A. in the first and third quarter, 28-19, then scored only 18 points in both the second and fourth quarter.

Inconsistency at its finest.

The newest Lakers, Kent Bazemore and Marshon Brooks, led L.A. to victory down the stretch. They combined to score 29 points off the bench in the second half, propelling L.A. to its 19th victory.

The good:

* Brandon Bass and Jeff Green were the best Celtics tonight. The two combined to score 41 points on 16-of-32 shooting and grab 11 rebounds.

The bad:

* The C's bench shot 9-of-25.

* Tonight was not Rajon Rondo's finest night. Although he had 6 points, 11 assists and 6 rebounds, Rondo shot only 2-of-12 in 34 minutes.

Boston has another crack to get in the win column tomorrow night against the Sacramento Kings. Tipoff is 10:30 pm.
