Game 55 Preview: Celtics at Suns

Via USA Today
Former Celtic Gerald Green has been one of the many
surprised with the Phoenix Suns.

The unofficial second half of the NBA season begins tonight. For the Celtics (19-35), that means the start of a West Coast road trip. Tonight is the first stop on that trip, and it's in Phoenix against the surging Suns (31-21).

The Suns have been the biggest surprise in the NBA thus far. They are coming off a 112-107 overtime victory last night over the Denver Nuggets, a game in which former Celtic Gerald Green scored a career-high 36 points for Phoenix.

For the Celtics, they will be without Avery Bradley (ankle) and Vitor Faverani (knee) on the West Coast.

Projected lineups:

Celtics:
Rajon Rondo
Gerald Wallace
Jeff Green
Brandon Bass
Jared Sullinger

Suns:
Goran Dragic
Gerald Green
Channing Frye
P.J. Tucker
Miles Plumlee

Keys to the game:

1. Stop the guards: Phoenix has the fifth-highest scoring backcourt in the league. Without Bradley, Boston is going to have a tough time stopping Phoenix's offensive attack. They need all hands on deck to stop the likes of Goran Dragic and former Celtics Gerald Green and Leandro Barbosa.

2. Stop the three: Phoenix scores 28.3 points per game from three-pointers. That's the best mark in the league. The Celtics need to do all they can to prevent the long-range shooting from the Suns.
